Wal-Mart on Friday confirmed what people have been saying for more than a month nowâ€â€it will sell Apple’s iPhone 3G at its 2,500-or-so retail outlets around the U.S.
The iPhone goes on sale at Wal-Mart on Sunday, the retailer said. An 8GB iPhone will cost $197 at Wal-Mart, while the 16GB model will sell for $297. Both prices are $2 off what Apple charges for the mobile device. Wal-Mart’s press release also noted that the company’s price-match policy lets stores match the price offered by any local competitor.
