The founders of Skype are planning to launch an online TV service next year, according to a report in today’s Financial Times.
The report said that Skype is currently testing the service with a limited user base and that it has already penned deals with some “big-name” content providers.
The Venice Project, as it has been code-named, will consist of “near high definition” programming, supported by advertising, using Skype’s peer-to-peer technology.
