About Microsoft offers fix for IE patch

Microsoft has offered a fix for customers who are having problems using Internet Explorer after installing a recent important security update for the browser

Last week, Microsoft issued a critical patch (MS06-042) that addresses eight separate security problems in Internet Explorer.

But some people have found that since installing the update, the browser will crash or automatically close itself down.

According to Microsoft, the patch will cause problems for people who have Internet Explorer with Service Pack 1 installed when accessing sites that use data compression and version 1.1 of the HTTP web protocols.
